So many of my friends with kids have hit a wall in their fashion and that wall is the baby-stage. They make a very good point in saying that their entire day consists of feeding, diaper changes, and crawling around on the floor, they do not need to look like a beauty queen to do that. Many parents stay in that stage for years after their children have outgrown the baby stage and it is important to shake yourself out of a fashion rut. Just because you are a parent does not mean that you can not look your best.
Most parents require that their clothing be comfortable. When you have kids you are down on the floor and running around your house after kids. Your clothing should move with you. But that does not mean that sweats is the best option. Rather than pulling on the same old sweats, think about wearing a great pair of leggings. Leggings are a great and comfortable pant that can be worn with a variety of things. Pull on leggings with a long peasant blouse and you will not only be comfortable but you will look stylish. Consider wearing dresses. Many people think that dresses are just to much work to wear, but they are the simplest fashion item because they are just one piece. Dresses do not have to be formal, they can be worn everyday.
Many parents gravitate towards what they wore before they had children because the fashion is safe. However, times have changed and you need to change with them. Take a look around you and see what other people are wearing. Look in fashion magazines and get a sense of what you would like to wear. Remember that you need to dress your age. Just because you have kids does not mean that you have to look like a grandma. You should also not be wearing clothes that you wore before kids as you may look like you are trying to hard to appear young. Wear clothes that are appropriate for you age and your mommy status.
