Accessorising Dress Codes

When people are forced to conform to a dress code they may feel that they are left with no options to express their own personal style. Many pre-teens and teenagers may feel that they are not being given the opportunity to explore fashion and can rebel. Rather than rebel and go against the dress code, try to find ways that you can accessorizese within the dress code.

In many schools, there are are rules about what the color the hair has to be. Normally, the hair is required to be a color that is found in nature which means that they hair has to be a natural color and can not be a color like pink or blue. However, the rules do not usually supply a condition about hair accessories. Go with your child to look for headbands and clips that they feel are their own style. Let your children play with the way that their hair is styled. If a child is given some sense of freedom within their look they will be more inclined to follow the dress code.

Your child can also accessorizese their uniform. If the weather is cold, help your child find pieces for cold weather. Look for scarfs and gloves that match their style. Make them feel like they have option to choose what pieces they can pair with their uniform. See if there is a stipulation in the dress codes about colored stockings. Try to find pins that they could pin to their uniform that would make them feel more individual. Make sure that they feel that they still be themselves while conforming to a dress code.
